Evac Syafruddin Mintaredja, the first son of Mohammad Syafaat Mintaredja who started his career from the bottom.


Evac Syafruddin Mintaredja, better known as Evac Mintaredja, is an Indonesian bureaucrat, businessman, and politician. He is also known as the eldest son of Mohammad Syafaat Mintaredja, the founder and first chairman of the United Development Party (PPP), serving from 1973 to 1978.

Evac Syafruddin Mintaredja was born in Cimahi on September 29, 1948, the first son of Mohammad Syafaat Mintaredja and Siti Romlah.

Evac Syafruddin Mintaredja married Sri Widiarsih, the daughter of Raden Danoe Soegito, who came from a noble family descended from the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace. Sri Widiarsih was seen with President Soekarno as a child.

Evac Syafruddin Mintaredja and Sri Widiarsih were blessed with three children. Arie Syafriandi Mintaredja was born in Jakarta on July 7, 1975. He married Fanny Eldiana and has two children: Alvaro Rafi Syafaat Mintaredja, born in Jakarta on January 4, 2004, and Anindia Refa Syafina. Arie Syafriandi Mintaredja chose to become an entrepreneur. Next are Lia Siti Syafruliana, married to Novie Kresna Surosaputra, and they have a daughter, Amanda Kanaela Surosaputra. Siti Halimah Syafrimilawardani, married to Michael Tjandrajaya, and they have two children, Jemima Nesha Syafrilatifah and Rachel Nathania Syafitri.

The Mintaredja family is also related to the fourth President of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid, who was also the founder of the National Awakening Party. The Mintaredja family was also photographed with President Jokowi at the wedding of Gus Dur's nephew.

Despite being born the son of a minister and political party founder, he decided not to follow in his father's footsteps and instead worked his way up the ranks, eventually becoming Head of the Media Bureau at the Ministry of State Secretariat during the administration of Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

Evac Syafruddin Mintaredja died at approximately 6:56 PM WIB on December 4, 2007, at Pondok Indah Hospital, South Jakarta. His body will lie in state at the funeral home on Jalan Karyawan No. 1, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla also paid his respects at Evac's residence.
